Troja Castle

Just 500 m walk from our campsite along the Vltava River there is one of most significant examples of the Bohemian Baroque style - Troja Baroque Castle.

The staircase of the Castle is decorated by sculptures of Antique gods fighting with Titans. This probably also gave rise to the name Troja, which then was adopted to surrounding part of Prague. The Castle very sensitively fits in the surrounded landscape. An extensive French Garden decorated by original terracotta vases from Rome, stucco and orangeries with imperators’ busts. The expositions of the Gallery of the Capital City of Prague are placed inside the Castle.
